Daydream by Lily M

People hear my story & ask me how I smile everyday
Are you really that happy or are you being fake
The answer is simple: My faith
For all that is possible and not possible because I can daydream
And see it come true
Close my eyes and grin as if I’m reminiscing like its déjà vu
Yes, it’s that simple
I’m a lover of love and I live to live
So deeply I intertwine myself with the pleasures of simple joys
Like being able to run a hot, clean shower
All my family members live 10 minutes away
How I wake up every morning to same beautiful man
& have dinner with him each day
Yes, bad things happen
But look at the good around you
Don’t block your blessings because a boulder is in your way
Did you look above you and see the majestic sky
Did you not get this far, Are you not still standing
Even if the last person you had failed you, You are never alone
Smell the sweet air, Run your toes through the grass

Stare at a bird on an electrical wire or take a walk on the sand
Money doesn’t buy you peace
The last time I checked those things were free
If that doesn’t work then daydream
I’ve imagined my wedding day at least 200 times
A backyard with tulle and flowers flowing from a gazebo
Lights strung above, flowers floating in the pool
A man singing as I walk down the aisle
My fiancé's face when he sees me, Me crying listening to his vows
Yes, I do
The best day of my life I’ve envisioned you
Later we’ll retire on your land and you’ll push me on our swing
After dinner, you’ll lie beside me on the hammock
Hanging from our mango tree
That will be so sweet
When did a daydream hurt anyone
Every success and accomplishment began with a dream
The hope which gives you faith if you believe in yourself enough
To make them come true
Daydream, what’s the worst that can happen to you

807 by Lily M

In 8 07 we locked eyes
I must say fine at first sight, who would have though you’d be mine
Uncovering all your hidden treasures, to planning our forever
What about the end of us, will you promise me never
Love grows, emotions rise, passion’s there, but why can’t I
Just give you space right now, to be in your blue funk
But I just want your red desire
Higher, you take me, every time you pull me closer
But your lips you won’t split apart, you opt for cold shoulder
You think I ‘m being nice to you because I’m always nice
But like a chameleon I am hiding in the grace of your love
The spikes on my back, the horns beneath my crown
Wont show for you even in pain I drown
You’re special that way
For others, I was nice because that’s what Christians are supposed to do
But for you, you, that’s what love makes you do
I have put you on a pedestal and I have not renounced your crown
Not because I am holding on to hope but because that’s how you hold someone down
I praise the good and bad of you, like you are my own
I love the hell out of you and burn into your soul
I cannot force the strong and stubborn man you are to see the world the way I do
I can only show you how your love makes me see the world when I’m next to you
I know you now, maybe not 100% and it is what it is my dear
But that’s not stopping me to come to this place now without fear
I dare you to hold onto my hand and give me your heart
We can mix your world of logic and caution with mine of rainbows and glitter
as long as we are walking to forever, whatever that is for us, but just be together
with the same curiosity we shared as strangers in 807

Dead Silence by Lily M

Dead silence
Not a fly, not a bird, not my heart
Has made a sound
But images keep flashing
Round and round
And finally I yell out STOP
I just want to sleep
A full night without
Waking up and wishing you were near
No, here with me
